New Update: Summer 2016

It has been sometime since my last post. Much has changed in my life. I moved to Southern California the fall of 2012 to be near my sister and her family. Jane (our mother) was in need of more care – so she and I let go of the Florida life and headed west.

Jane continued to paint until her last days in January of 2016.

I have been somewhat involved in the arts here – but spent much of my time with my mother, sister and re- acquainting myself with the rest of my family. Jane and I attended many art galleries, museums and art openings.

My artwork has been exhibited in a few local shows and I am now teaching art and curating exhibitions at an a very special assisted living community a block from my home in costa Mesa. Many of the residents there are artists and even during their twilight years some aspire to be so. We work in many mediums: Clay, fabric, paint and mixed media.

I also work once a week with the memory care residents – some with advanced Alzheimer’s Disease. It has been quite eye opening and humbling experience.

I belong to a quilt organization called “Quilts on the Wall”  – we meet every other month. Many talented artists belong. I am scheduled to teach a Shibori Dyeing workshop at Piecemakers in Costa Mesa in August. And will be re-joining Visions Quilt Museum very soon. They are located in San Diego.

I hope to figure out how to load in new artwork to this website. At this point I do not know how to do that. Any ideas would be helpful.

New ideas for future artwork continue to flood my brain and I hope to implement some of those ideas soon.

I am inspired every day by my life adventures.
